How does this work?

There is an endless supply of talent the world over without the ability to find and secure opportunities due to lack of access resulting from a lack of resources and/or monopoly. Conversely, the key to putting on a successful event or program for an Event Planner is connecting with the right expert who fits not only your profile in quality but also budget.

FindSpeakersEasy.com is the bridge, the connection hub between the two. FSE gives Event Planners (Seekers) the tools needed to find that perfect person for your service need. The member seeking tailors a search based on keywords and/or criteria including location, speaking style, preferences and more by which the platform database returns matching results. For instance, a Seeker searching a female, motivational speaker, between 40-50, from the southwest region of the United States will only receive matches specific to these identified parameters based on the database query of Speaker profiles. Any member not falling into parameters would not be returned as a match (a sort of Lead Sheet, if you will); this is why it is important for all members to fully complete their Profile immediately upon account creation so as not to miss out on the ideal opportunity. Once identified, Speakers and Seekers may communicate directly with their person of interest and even endorse them after successful engagement.

Why ask some of the Profile questions asked?

FindSpeakersEasy.com does not discriminate in any way, shape, or form, and we are built upon and operate from a moral and ethical center. In asking the Speaker profile questions that we do, it is our endeavor to make the Seeker’s job as easy as possible and get members of our Speaker community found as quickly as possible. Believe it or not, searches with such specific criteria which some may consider personal return desired results for planners searching those parameters and do not waste valuable time of either party.

 Characteristic, demographic, and habits information as education, ethnicity, height, hair color, marital status, and the like are collected and used for the purpose and function of matching search requests made by Seekers, which may be applicable to a specific interest group. Note: Most of these “personal” fields are not required and/or hidden. By not completing them, you may be limiting your opportunities. 

Contacting Members

How do I contact another member?

While viewing another member’s profile, click on the Message or Connect button displayed below their Profile photo. If sending a message, enter your message in the text box provided, then click send. If requesting to Connect, the member with whom you are requesting to connect must accept your request. You may cancel the connection request while it is pending a response.

Will any of my message details be exposed?

No. The Message feature is designed for communication between two members and will only contain your username and composed messages.

I received a message from another member. How do I reply?

You may follow the reply link provided in the email received. It will take you directly to their message. You may also Sign in and check messages by clicking on the Message icon between the Search and Notificaitons icons in the top right navigation.

Can I prepare a message using another program and then copy and paste it into the Message box?

Yes. However, the best way to ensure your message displays correctly when the recipient reads it is to type your message directly into the message box provided. If you compose a message in Microsoft Word, paste it into the platform message box in plain text by selecting the Keep Text Only option. As an alternative, you may write your message using a plain text editor such as Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac). Again, if you use Microsoft Word, export your final copy as a plain text file using the following steps:

 

  • File -> Save As…
  • Set ‘Save as type’ dropdown to ‘Plain Text (*.txt)’
  • Click Save
  • In the File Conversion dialog box, select the “Other encoding” radio button.
  • Select ‘Western European (ISO)’ encoding (depending on the written language)
  • Tick the ‘Allow character substitution’ checkbox and inspect the preview pane
  • Click OK to save the file

 

If you follow this method, Word will convert any “smart” characters back to standard characters. However, you must proof check the resultant file to see that Word handled this process correctly. Once you have done that you can copy your text from the .txt file and paste it directly into the message box.

Must I be a subscriber to receive messages?

Yes. You must be a member to access the FSE community platform and send/receive Messages. You may join FindSpeakersEasy.com as an Event Planner (Seeker), Talent (Speaker), or Consumer (Seeker).

Can I change my email address?

Yes. You may change your email at any time by going to Account > Login Information. We suggest you set up a free web-based mail account with a service such as Outlook and use this email address in your profile. Note that there is a potential down side to using free email services. Some of them disable your account if you do not check it regularly. If we receive several consecutive bounces from your address, we may hide or remove your profile.

How do I remove or delete messages from members I no longer have contact with?

Go to that specific message chain. In the upper right corner you will see three dots stacked on top of each other. Click on those dots. You may choose to Mark unread, Hide conversation, Delete your messages, or Delete conversation

How does the FindSpeakersEasy.com site work?

FindSpeakersEasy.com provides a safe, secure way to find and communicate with people or entities you may want to do business with or learn from.

In a nutshell, if you seek talent, choose a username and create an account. Immediately set up a profile describing yourself, organization or business credentials (if applicable), and what you offer. Be sure to add your event to the Events calendar. Begin your search for the talent you seek now or later and/or connect with other event planners.

If you are talent looking for opportunities, to connect with others and/or grow in your talent through educational groups and forums, choose a username and create an account. Immediately set up a profile and let people know who you are, talents you offer, your requirements, what you will and will not do, and share through words and photos. Follow the Events calendar and connect with the Planner for the perfect opportunity.

All members can view other profiles by searching the site. When you find someone whose talent interests you, send a message via the site to their username. The message is sent to their email address from your username – your real name and email address are never shown. In turn, you may receive messages from other members. These messages will be from their username and not their real email address, protecting both your and their privacy. Engage at the level you want to engage.

Why can't I send messages?

To send messages you must be a member. Please visit our Sign up page to view membership options.

Is my privacy respected?

Yes. We will never give or sell your information to anyone or use your information for any purpose without your permission. For full details please review our Privacy Policy.

Is the content censored?

As a rule no. We’re not here to police our members. However, members may block or report profiles of concern, and we reserve the right to hide, delete or modify unacceptable profiles. Amongst other reasons we reserve the right to delete or modify profiles that:

  • Contain contact information such as email or Skype addresses, telephone numbers, addresses, etc.
  • Are illegal, e.g., under 18 years of age or solicit contact from people under 18 years.
  • Are racist or attack other groups or religions.

Login

I've forgotten my Sign in details. How do I find them?

Easy! Just click on the Sign in button, then Forgot Password? link. Enter your email address, perform the reCAPTCHA check, and click on Request password reset. We will email you with confirmation of the Site Name and Username, as well as link that allows you to reset your password.

Can I change my password?

Yes. Go to the Account navigation icon or dropdown, then click on Account > Login Information and follow the edit instructions.

How do I log out?

To log out, go to the name dropdown and scroll to the last option. Click Logout or use the Log Out icon. To ensure you are completely logged out, close the web browser.

Membership

Can I sign up for both a Seeker and a Speaker account?

Yes. However, we recommend you do not. If both an Event Planner and Talent, opt for the Speaker membership account. You may search Seekers and request to join Seeker private groups for network and educational purposes. The FSE database will not reconcile the same username or email under both membership types. You must choose one or the other.

What does it cost to subscribe to FindSpeakersEasy.com?

Seeker subscriptions are free subscription accounts at this time. The Speaker subscription is a modest investment in your future business and development as talent. Choose what suits you best for your purpose as a Speaker. FSE recommends the priceless “Lifetime” investment option, considering your potential return on investment (ROI). We believe in you! Are all members subscribers?

Yes. Everyone who creates an account is a member and subscriber. You may join FindSpeakersEasy.com as an Event Planner (Seeker), Talent (Speaker), or Consumer (Seeker). Subscription types for Seekers and Speakers differ.

How can I pay?

We offer a secure credit card payment facility through a leading company for billing and subscription services. Alternatively, you can pay using PayPal or by bank transfer through PayPal.

Is it safe to enter my credit card details on the site?

Yes. We use two of the largest and most respected global card processing companies. Credit card payments are processed using secure card-processing gateways. All your card details are encrypted for maximum security whilst travelling over the Internet. Furthermore, no credit card details are stored anywhere on our site.

What will appear on my credit card account?

Payments will be shown as a purchase from “Defining Paths” the parent entity of FindSpeakersEasy.com.

Will my subscription be renewed automatically, and if it is, how can I cancel it?

Yes. If you subscribe using PayPal, a credit/debit card or via our mobile App, then you will be re-billed at the end of your first subscription period. However, if you cancel your agreement before your renewal date, you will not be billed.

Should you wish to cancel your PayPal or credit card automatic renewal, simply go to the Membership Cancellation page which is in the footer and click on the cancellation link. To cancel automatic renewals made via the App, you will need to do so through your iTunes or Google Play account. Please note, automatic renewal cancellations can take your payment provider up to 48 hours to process.

Can I cancel my membership at any time and will I be refunded the balance?

Yes. You may cancel membership at anytime but we sincerely hope you do not. Your voice is important. Remember our slogan, “You speak, we listen…” Let us know what is going on and why you would like to cancel by sending us a message via the Contact Us form.

No. Unused portions of a subscription are generally not refundable and deleting your profile will result in your unused subscription being lost.

Will my profile remain on the site after my subscription ends?

Yes, however, you will need to subscribe again if you want to activate membership benefits.

Profile

Why must I set up a profile to use the site?

In support of our Human Capital Value belief system, safety, security, and accountability are top priorities in doing business with FSE. You may search the site without setting up a profile. However, to view full member profiles you need to become a member and set up a profile. It is free to become a member through the Seeker subscription as well as Speaker paid options.

How do I set up my Profile?

Before you may set up a profile, you must first create an account and verify the email address used to establish the account. Once done, Sign in to FindSpeakersEasy.com and complete your Profile.

Can I change my Username?

Yes. Go to the Account > Login Information page of your profile and follow the edit instructions.

How do I change my Profile?

Go to Profile > Edit and follow the edit instructions.

How do I delete my profile?

Go to the Account > Delete Account page of your profile and click Delete Account. Note: This process cannot be reversed and will completely delete all your details on the site and end your subscription. If you have time left on your subscription, it will be deleted with your records and cannot be refunded or applied to other/future profiles

Photo

How do I add a photo to my Profile?

Go to dropdown > Profile > Profile Photo to add, take, change, or delete a Profile photo.

Does my photo automatically show on my profile?

Yes. At this time, we do not feel the need to check and approve all newly uploaded photos before they become publicly visible on FindSpeakersEasy.com. However, we reserve the right to begin doing so at any time.

 

How do I add a Cover Photo?

Go to dropdown > Profile > Cover Photo to select or drag and drop your file. You may also delete your Cover Photo here.

Are there any specific requirements for adding photos?

Yes. Profile Photos must be 300px by 300px but you do have the option to crop. Cover Photos require a standard size of 1300px by 225px. If your picture does not meet parameters, the platform will automatically advise you on specific requirements.

Why did my photo disappear from my profile?

Your photo may be deleted if it does not comply with our technical requirements, is obscene or is a picture of a celebrity or other copyrighted material such as cartoon pictures.

Can I add other photos and create albums?

Yes. Go to dropdown and click on Photos. You may view My Photos, My Album, and add photos from this page. Click on the desired action and follow guidelines.

May I make photos private?

No. This is not a function available on FSE at this time but may be taken under advisement should a percentage of the membership request this functionality. However, our networking value of transparency presupposes no need for private photos on a professional connection hub like FSE.

Safety and Privacy

How do I block/unblock someone?

While viewing a member’s profile, select the Block option. Blocked members cannot see your full profile and will not be able to contact you. Block someone by mistake? Go to the Account icon, then Blocked Members. Click on Unblock next to the member name.

How do I report someone?

If another member’s behavior is giving you cause for concern, or if someone’s being downright abusive, please let our Support Team know by selecting the Report option from that member’s profile. All complaints are treated in the strictest confidence and could result in, amongst other things, the suspension or deletion of the offending member’s profile.

Verification

How do I verify my new account?

After creating your new account, go to the email account used to Sign up and look for an email from Find Speakers Easy. Click on the verification link and all done! Welcome to the FSE network!

Why should I verify my email address?

We want to ensure that we provide a safe and secure community for all members. Knowing that you’re communicating with another member who has verified their email address adds a level of trust. We also want to ensure that you are not a robot!
